Determine if You Need a Visa 

Check whether your nationality requires a visa to enter Japan. 

You can find the latest list of visa-exempt countries on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA):

If your country is not on the visa-exempt list, you must apply for a short-term stay visa (for business or conference attendance). 

Apply at least one month or earlier before your travel date.
